TDI Review
Sean Evans has built a reputation as one of the internet’s most distinctive interviewers, turning the simple premise behind Hot Ones into a show capable of attracting some of the biggest names in entertainment. This year, Hot Ones made one of its biggest moves yet, landing a Netflix spin-off and successfully netting Evans a spot in the Highly Rated tier.
Hot Ones: Extra Heat arrived on Netflix in July, taking the show beyond its YouTube home with Evans interviewing guests at major Netflix events. The spin-off gives Hot Ones a bigger stage while retaining the interview format that made it successful, and places Evans among a growing number of leading creators working with the streamer this year.
Brands have found plenty of ways to get involved too. Best Buy partnered with Evans for its 2025 holiday campaign, with Evans presenting some of the retailer’s featured products in videos tied to Hot Ones. In June, Barbie-owner Mattel brought Ken onto Hot Ones to mark his 65th anniversary, with the character taking on Evans’ usual line-up of increasingly spicy wings. Mattel also created a one-off Sean Evans Ken doll for the episode.
