Acast expands Apple Podcasts video publishing to all eligible creators

Hannah Oladele | Aug 6, 2026

Any creator using Acast can now publish video episodes to Apple Podcasts, with the podcast hosting platform expanding a feature that was previously only available to a select group.

The update means creators no longer need separate audio and video versions of the same show. Instead, they can publish a single podcast, allowing listeners to switch between watching and listening within Apple's app.

The launch builds on Apple's video podcasting system, introduced earlier this year, which enables audio and video versions of the same show to exist in a single feed. At the time, Diary of a CEO co-founder Jack Sylvester told The Daily Influence Apple's push into video should serve as a "wake-up call" for creators still relying solely on audio.

The feature is available to creators in Acast's Creator Network and those subscribed to its new video plan.

Acast said the update reflected growing demand for video among podcast audiences. Citing its 2025 Podcast Pulse research, the company said nearly four in five listeners use both formats, depending on where they are.

"Our 2025 Podcast Pulse research showed it's a spectrum: some people only listen, some now only watch, most move between the two depending on where they are. Nearly four in five do both, with audio still the main channel – a permanent feature of the medium, not a transition," the company said.

The update follows Acast's launch of video advertising on Apple Podcasts in May, with brands including State Farm and T-Mobile running campaigns across the platform.
