Amazon, Netflix, YouTube form streaming alliance

Hannah Oladele | Sep 16, 2026

Amazon, Netflix and YouTube have teamed up to advocate on policy issues affecting the streaming industry.

The Streaming Access and Choice Alliance (SACA) will push for policies that expand consumer access to content, preserve choice and support innovation in digital entertainment.

It is led by TechNet, a bipartisan network of technology CEOs and senior executives that advocates on public policy issues affecting the technology industry.

Mike Ward, senior vice president of federal policy and government relations at TechNet, who leads the alliance, said the group would give streaming companies a dedicated voice in Washington.

“Americans want more content choices and flexibility in how and where they watch their favorite programming, including sports and other live events,” he said in a statement.

“Streaming and digital entertainment companies offer audiences better features and value for their money. The industry and its customers deserve a dedicated voice in Washington, D.C., advocating for policies that enable innovation and address the needs of today’s consumers.”

The coalition also marks a new attempt by major technology companies to establish a collective voice in Washington. Amazon, Google and Netflix were previously members of the Internet Association, a broader technology lobbying group that dissolved in 2021 after nearly a decade.
