Fixated snaps up Studio71's US division

Fixated has acquired Studio71's US business, bringing a network of more than 1,000 creators under its platform.
The Los Angeles-based media company said the deal will help it support creators across the full process – from managing talent and producing content to turning that work into income – as it looks to build a more integrated platform for creator-led businesses. It also adds Studio71's podcasting operation.
Fixated told The Daily Influence that Studio71 creators will gain access to a pool of more than 25,000 micro-creators used to distribute content, as well as a team managing direct-to-fan revenue across platforms including Patreon and Fanfix.
German broadcaster ProSiebenSat.1 will retain Studio71's operations in German-speaking markets.
Fixated, which raised $50 million from US investment firm Eldridge Industries last December, has been building out its position across the creator economy. It bought Camp Talent and Moondust Management last April, followed by gamer talent agency Ellify in January and monetisation platform Elevate in March.
Announcing the deal on LinkedIn, chief executive Zach Katz said the company is focused on building infrastructure for creators. "Creators stopped being influencers a long time ago," he said. "They're building media companies, and the infrastructure to match that ambition has never existed – until now."
Co-founder Jason Wilhelm, who began his career at Studio71 seven years ago, described the deal as a "full circle moment." "Seven years later, we bought the company," he said.
The deal reflects a broader wave of consolidation across the sector, as companies race to control more of the infrastructure behind how creators build and make money.
