KFC has teamed up with IShowSpeed to launch its new Hot Ranch Big Dip across the US, building on the streamer’s long-running love for the fast-food chain.
IShowSpeed has featured KFC in his content for years, including during his travels around the world, and previously went viral after the chain surprised him with KFC for life.
“Everybody knows I love KFC. I've been a fan for years and I've visited KFCs all over the world, so getting to team up with a brand I've always been a fan of is huge for me,” said IShowSpeed, whose real name is Darren Watkins Jr.
“My fans have seen that everywhere I've traveled, so getting to make it official with KFC is crazy. It really feels like everything came full circle.”
The partnership coincides with the launch of KFC’s Hot Ranch Big Dip, a new spicy ranch sauce served in four-ounce portions – twice the size of the chain’s typical dipping sauce cups.
KFC said the product was developed in response to demand for ranch, citing research from Datassential which found that 75% of consumers like or love the sauce, with 44% eating it weekly.
Melissa Cash, chief marketing officer at KFC U.S., said IShowSpeed’s existing relationship with the brand made him a natural fit for the campaign.
“We're excited to team up with IShowSpeed because he's been part of the KFC story long before this partnership, making him the perfect person to help us bring Hot Ranch Big Dip Energy to fans nationwide,” she said.
The sauce combines creamy ranch with garlic and herb flavours and chilli pepper heat, and can be ordered on its own or alongside several limited-time menu additions, including KFC’s returning Double Crispy Hot Wings.
IShowSpeed also stars in a 60-second commercial for the launch, which plays on the double meaning of “Hot Ranch”. The streamer arrives on set believing he is there to film at a cattle ranch, before discovering that the campaign is actually for KFC’s new sauce.
KFC said further promotions and fan activations involving IShowSpeed are planned for later this fall.
The partnership comes as fast-food brands increasingly turn existing creator fandom into formal commercial collaborations.
Sixteen-year-old creator Salish Matter recently launched her own limited-edition order with Chipotle, based on the Kids Cheese Quesadilla she regularly orders and has featured in her content.
