Tubi taps TikTok creators for push into TV-style programming

Content creators on TikTok are being offered a new route into making original TV-style shows, via a Tubi-led creator incubator.
The Fox-owned streaming service said the “Creatorverse” programme will support selected TikTokers in developing scripted and unscripted series, to premiere exclusively on Tubi. TikTok will help identify talent and use its Spotlight feature to drive audiences to the shows.
Tubi said the move is designed to give creators access to its more than 100 million monthly active users, positioning the platform as a “bridge” between short-form content and streaming distribution.
“We’re building a real bridge from digital platforms to premium storytelling,” said Rich Bloom, Tubi’s general manager of creator programmes. He added that the partnership is designed to give creators more room to develop longer projects while maintaining creative control.
The move builds on Tubi’s existing investment in creator-led content. Over the past 10 months, the platform has added more than 16,000 episodes from over 200 creators. Earlier this year, TikTok creator Kelon Campbell’s Terri Joe: Missionary in Miami debuted as a feature-length project on the service.
Kudzi Chikumbu, Tubi’s vice president of creator partnerships, framed the move more simply. “You know how you scroll on TikTok and see a creator so great that you think to yourself, ‘this needs to be a show’? Well, the time has come,” he said in a LinkedIn post.
The partnership reflects a broader shift across streaming platforms, which are increasingly turning to creators as a pipeline for new formats and talent.
It also comes just days after Tubi research showed audiences already view creator content as comparable to traditional TV, despite platforms being slow to integrate it more widely.
