Formula 1 has renewed Amelia Dimoldenberg's Passenger Princess after the creator-led YouTube series attracted more than 289 million views in its first run.
Produced in collaboration with Dimoldenberg's production company, Dimz Inc., the series follows the Chicken Shop Date creator as she learns to drive with the help of Formula 1 drivers, blending her signature interview style with the fast-paced world of motorsport.
Six new weekly episodes will premiere exclusively on Dimoldenberg's YouTube channel throughout July and August.
Dimoldenberg will take the passenger seat alongside Charles Leclerc, Franco Colapinto, Valtteri Bottas, Gabriel Bortoleto, Kimi Antonelli and Alex Albon. The series was filmed during the Barcelona-Catalunya and Austrian Grand Prix weekends.
"Against all odds, they've let me 'drive' for another season. I'm thrilled to be back in the passenger seat with six new drivers and even more opportunities to demonstrate why I still can't be trusted behind the wheel," Dimoldenberg said.
Emily Prazer, Formula 1's chief commercial officer, said the success of the first season demonstrated the appetite for creator-led programming.
"We are incredibly excited to bring Passenger Princess back for a second season following the fantastic success of the first series, which attracted millions of viewers around the world and gave fans a unique look at the personalities behind our sport," she said.
"Amelia has a remarkable ability to connect with audiences through humour, authenticity and creativity. With Formula 1's fanbase now exceeding 830 million worldwide, this series is a brilliant way to engage both existing fans and new audiences, and we cannot wait for everyone to see the drivers face one of their biggest challenges yet... teaching Amelia how to drive."
The series forms part of Formula 1's wider strategy to deepen fan engagement beyond race weekends through original entertainment and creator partnerships. Alongside Netflix's Drive to Survive and F1 The Movie – which has grossed more than $630 million worldwide to become the highest-grossing sports film of all time – the sport has increasingly invested in creator-led formats to reach new audiences.
Passenger Princess is the latest example of that approach. Earlier this year, Formula 1 partnered with Global to launch the twice-weekly podcast Up To Speed, recruiting content creator Jolie Sharpe as co-host alongside Will Buxton, Naomi Schiff and David Coulthard.
