CAA, TPG launch $250m vehicle targeting creator businesses

TDI Editorial | Jun 12, 2026

Creative Artists Agency and private equity firm TPG have launched a $250 million investment vehicle designed to acquire and grow creator-led businesses.

The new company, Compound Creative Holdings, will acquire companies emerging from platforms such as YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, Spotify and Substack, providing funding, operational support and industry expertise.

The venture is led by Tucker Brown, who most recently worked at CAA Evolution, the agency's investment banking and advisory division. Brown has advised on a number of creator-economy transactions, including investments involving YouTube group Dude Perfect and creator-led news company MeidasTouch.

Compound will operate separately from CAA Creators, the agency's digital talent division, which represents more than 300 clients.

Announcing the launch, CAA co-chairman Kevin Huvane said creators were increasingly building "full-fledged media companies" with direct audience relationships and ownership of their intellectual property.

Growing capital interest

The launch follows a series of creator-focused investment announcements this year.

In January, media investment firm Guggenheim Brothers Media and Abu Dhabi-based investor Ethmar International Holding launched a creator-focused fund targeting digital media and entertainment businesses. The same month, UK talent agency YMU launched YMU Ventures, allowing it to invest directly in businesses founded by the talent it represents.

In February, creator management company Night raised $70 million to expand across gaming, sports, music and live events. Night, which represents creators including Kai Cenat and Marlon Garcia, said the funding would be used to grow businesses embedded in internet culture.

An evolving model

CAA has made no secret of its expanding creator ambitions both at home and overseas.

In December, reports suggested the agency was exploring ways to grow its creator presence in the UK through additional hires or an acquisition. The agency already represents creators including KSI and Amelia Dimoldenberg.

The shift has been echoed elsewhere. United Agents launched a dedicated unscripted division for creators in April, while Buchwald unveiled a dedicated creator division in May.

The latest move comes during a period of growing institutional interest in the creator economy. Earlier this week, creator agency Whalar agreed to be acquired by Accenture Song, bringing one of the industry's best-known creator businesses into the portfolio of a global professional services firm.
