Mastercard is making another play for the creator economy, teaming up with MrBeast’s Beast Industries to develop new payment cards aimed at digital entrepreneurs and consumers.
The pair have partnered on a wider initiative that will also include financial education and other support, although they have not yet said how the cards will work or when they will launch.
It follows Mastercard’s earlier efforts to develop financial products specifically for the sector. In February 2025, the company unveiled Business Builder credit and debit cards designed for creators and small business owners, with benefits aimed at helping them run their businesses.
MrBeast, meanwhile, is no stranger to financial services. Beast Industries acquired Gen Z banking app Step earlier this year, bringing its technology and team into the company. Step had more than seven million users at the time of the deal and offers savings accounts alongside a Visa card.
“At Beast, we innovate boldly and are constantly trying things that have never been done before,” Beast Industries CEO Jeffrey Housenbold said. “That’s why this partnership is so important, it gives us a chance to dream big about how we help people gain practical skills, build that confidence and take their ‘impossible’ ideas further.”
Other payments companies have also been developing products around how creators earn. Earlier this year, Visa partnered with TikTok on a debit card in the UK that gives TikTok LIVE creators quicker access to their earnings while keeping that income separate from their personal spending.
