Creators can now earn on Picsart regardless of follower count, after the design platform launched a new monetisation programme that pays based on content performance rather than audience size.
The "Earn with Picsart" scheme invites creators to produce original content using its tools for campaign briefs, with payouts tied to how that content performs once shared across platforms including Instagram, TikTok, YouTube and X.
Approval is based on application quality, not audience scale – a shift that opens the door to smaller or emerging creators typically locked out of brand budgets.
Under the model, rewards are calculated using publicly available engagement metrics such as views and likes, with earnings only kicking in once content passes a minimum threshold of 5,000 views. Payouts are made via Stripe once creators reach a $50 balance.
The programme is currently available across the US, UK, Europe, Canada and Switzerland, and is limited to individual creators aged 18 and over with accounts in good standing.
Participants must also comply with ad disclosure rules and keep content live for at least 30 days or forfeit earnings.
The move positions Picsart among a growing number of platforms seeking to make it easier for creators to monetise, amid increased competition for quality content following the rise in AI. It follows a wave of creator incentives from platforms including Meta, Snapchat and X.
Announcing the move on LinkedIn, Picsart chief executive Hovhannes Avoyan said it would seek to address the earnings gap that continues to shape the creator economy, and support the 130 million creators using Picsart each month.
“The creator economy is booming – $250B today, expected to pass $1.3T by 2033. But here's the catch: most of that money goes to the top 1% of creators. The other 99%? They make the content that drives culture but rarely see a dollar,” he wrote.
