Twitch streamer Emily Zhang popularly known as ExtraEmily is taking her content from livestreams to Hulu with her own series titled ExtraEmily: Creator Essentials.

The show, made for teen audiences, repackages Zhang's previous vlogs and streams into a more traditional episodic TV format for Hulu/Disney+ viewers.

The 15 episodes series follows her as she takes on unusual adventures, tries new activities and dives into hilarious social experiments with episode listings including a workout session with Sara Saffari and a mini golf outing with her father.

The series is produced by pocket.watch, a children and family media company that develops entertainment franchises around popular digital creators and YouTube personalities.

It also builds on pocket.watch’s partnership with Disney+ and Hulu. Earlier this year, the company launched Rabbit Hole, a creator-led variety show featuring 36 digital stars, including ExtraEmily, Jesser, Zhong and Topper Guild.

Zhang, who also took part in Kai Cenat's Streamer University as a professor last year, first rose to prominence in 2020 streaming video games before transitioning to full-time In Real Life (IRL) streaming.

Announcing the news during her livestream, Zhang said she is curious about how the vlogs and streams will be repackaged and edited by Hulu's team.

“I’m actually so curious how they’re gonna edit it but, basically, I was like Yeah of course you can put my streams on Hulu. I think that would be fun,” she said. “So if they do well on Hulu then that’s really good. And they will let me know if they end up doing well.

Hulu’s growing push into creator-led storytelling follows similar efforts by Netflix which recently added a slew of creator-led shows onto its platform, including Jay Shetty's On Purpose and Sean Evans' Hot Ones: Extra Heat.
